Hi! I'm Ruth-Ann. Thanks for paying my site a visit. I use it to recalibrate my brain a bit, and I put notes here across space, homestead/gardening, app development, and cybersecurity assessments.

My main interest is space. I'm passionate about it but not smart enough to do it as a career, alas I still love it. I keep a garden too, to keep things interesting.

On the security side, a Senior Principal Cybersecurity Engineer showed me pentesting and plenty else when he didn't owe me any of it, and I haven't forgotten. From there I figured out I like ripping things apart, finding a flaw, and tucking real deep into it, and cybersecurity/pentesting gave me the runway to do just that. I obtained a few certs (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, CySA+, and eJPT with INE) to show what I know on that front, but the learning never ends.

I left a helpdesk analyst role because the phone kept ringing while I was trying to resolve or break down an issue, practically driving me mad. The clients were never the problem though, surprisingly I loved working with them and they made the job more delightful, but I'm not someone who likes interacting with people longer than I need to especially socially even though troubleshooting-wise I am swell.
